This year, the annual Open House on May 1 will stage Arnold Schönberg’s repertoire of workers’ songs. The Chorvereinigung Nordbahnbund and the Projektchor der Wiener Arbeitersänger (conductor: Martina Redl) will sing the choruses presented by Schönberg on May 14, 1898 as conductor of the Meidling workers’ choral society “Vorwärts”, and also all compositions that he rehearsed with his choruses from 1895 to 1898 for the “joint choir” at the “National Celebration of Workers’ Choral Societies”.
