Few composers are further apart aesthetically than Arnold Schönberg and Erik Satie, the latter of whom died exactly 100 years ago on July 1, 1925. And yet both composers shared a refined sense of humor. Both relished the challenge of translating dances into a contemporary musical language. Based on the similarities between these seemingly diametrical opposites, the Ensemble Wiener Collage invites its audience to participate in a cheerful, sometimes whimsical journey through the 20th and 21st centuries!
