Ludwig van BEETHOVEN Streichquartett Nr. 13 B-Dur op. 130
Anton WEBERN Fünf Sätze für Streichquartett op. 5
Leoš JANÁČEK Streichquartett Nr. 2 »Intime Briefe«

The string quartet genre is predestined for playing musical instruments in a small group, communicating secret musical messages. This idea is realized most consistently by Anton Webern in his subtle miniatures. Leoš Janáček expressively accentuates the messenger character in the title of his quartet – he characterized his piece as a collection of “love letters.” Finally, in his monumental late work Ludwig van Beethoven combines internalization with a formidable passion for making music, and brings the evening to a shattering conclusion.

The concert will be streamed live on facebook and YouTube and will be available for seven days afterwards.
