The music publishing firm of G. Schirmer was established (1866) in New York City by Gustav Schirmer (1829-1893). G. Schirmer is one of the largest music publishers in the United States. It published Schoenberg's Opp. 9B, 36, 37, 38, 41, 42, 43A, 43B, String quartet concerto, Suite for string orchestra, Violoncello concerto, and Models for beginners in composition.
